STEER

The STEER risk factor evaluation tool is a web based form that typically provides a range of responses in pre-selected ergonomic risk factor categories so that the magnitude of the existing risk factor can be determined by body part. All questions are multiple choice to further drill down to the actual cause of the problem.

The scores for each major risk factor type per body part are calculated and totaled and the resulting score is converted to a percentage, ranging from 0 to 100. On the factory or office floor an experienced assessor can complete a STEER survey in 30 minutes or less and like the START form this information can be collected by a PDA for even more efficiency.
